The reasons for a payment not being made include:

  • EMS does not pay out immediately in the morning. The payment can be credited to your account throughout the day.
  • After the weekend or after a public holiday, the payouts are prepared for several days at a time.
    This may cause the payout to be credited to your account at the end of the day.
  • If it is a (international) public holiday, there will be no payouts. Here you'll find an overview of public holidays on which there are no payouts.
  • You have a negative balance with EMS.
  • An incorrect bank account number has been provided (e.g. wrong IBAN). We will then block the payment until we have a correct account number.
  • It was not possible to carry out a direct debit.
  • The payment is settled with the amount that could not be paid by direct debit.
  • There is a disruption. Check our disruptions page for current disruptions.
