Starting July 2018 Mastercard will charge new fees for Mastercard transactions. We've outlined the changes below.

Card-not-present fees

Mastercard Card-Not-Present (CNP) transaction fees within Europe will change starting July 1st for the SEPA region, with an exception for Dutch, Belgian, French, Spanish and Portugese businesses. Fees in these countries will change starting the first of January 2019:

  • Interregional CNP transaction fees will increase by 5 basis points, and by 10 basis points for Mail-Order-Telephone-Order transactions.
  • Intra-European CNP transaction fees will increase by 2,5 basispoints, and by 5 basis points for Mail-Order-Telephone-Order transactions.
  • UK and Ireland domestic Mail-Order-Telephone-Order transaction fees will increase by 2,5 basispoints. The acquirer cross-border fee for CNP transactions will be cancelled.

Refund fees

Starting July 1st 2018, scheme fees will be charged on refunds as well.

Domestic scheme fee changes

Scheme fee pricing for the elements Volume, Acquiring Reported Transaction and Acquiring Cross-Border fees will increase in Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Italy, starting July 1st 2018.
